Monthly themed dinners where strangers become friends over homemade food.
Bring a dish. Meet new people.
COMING SOON TO SE LONDON
A new kind of dinner party
Grab A Plate is a monthly themed dinner where everyone brings a homemade dish to share.
Each event is built around a different theme, bringing together a table full of food, stories and strangers who won’t stay strangers for long.
In a world where it can feel harder than ever to meet new people and build meaningful connections, we wanted to create a space where conversation comes naturally. Food has a unique way of bringing people together, and there's something special about sharing a meal with people you may never have met otherwise.
Good food is even better when it's shared.
HOW IT WORKS
DISCOVER THE THEME
1
Every event explores a different theme inspired by food, memories, places and cultures.
MAKE SOMETHING TO SHARE
2
Bring a homemade dish inspired by the theme. It could be a family favourite, something nostalgic, a recipe you've always wanted to try, or a completely new creation. Every plate adds something unique to the table.
GATHER AROUND THE TABLE
3
Come solo or with friends and share an evening of good food, conversation and new experiences around the table.
LEAVE WITH NEW STORIES (and maybe new friends)
4
What starts as a table of strangers often ends with shared stories, new friendships and a reason to come back.
We're getting ready to launch our first dinners in South East London.
Every community starts with a handful of people.
If you'd like to be one of the first to experience Grab A Plate, leave your email below and we'll keep you updated with launch news, dinner themes and early access to tickets.

FAQS
-
Not at all. Grab A Plate is designed for people to come together, whether you arrive with friends or come on your own. Many guests will be meeting for the first time.
-
Each dinner will have a limited number of places to keep the atmosphere relaxed and make sure everyone has a chance to connect.
-
Each dinner will have a theme to inspire your dish. We recommend bringing something homemade that can be shared easily. Think bakery-style treats, cakes, bakes, pastries, salads, breads, dips, pastries, or dishes that can be served at room temperature.
To keep things simple, we’ll initially focus on foods that don’t require reheating or complicated preparation on the day.
-
Absolutely not! Grab A Plate isn’t about showing off, it’s about sharing something you’ve made and being part of creating the table.
A family recipe, a favourite bake, or something you’ve always wanted to try are all welcome.
-
We’ll provide guidance before each event depending on the number of guests attending. The idea is to bring something to share, rather than prepare a full meal for everyone.
-
We want everyone to feel comfortable sharing food, so we ask everyone to follow a few simple food hygiene guidelines when preparing their dish - from using clean hands, utensils and surfaces to keeping food at the right temperature and avoiding cross-contamination. We’ll send these guidelines to you before each dinner.
-
We encourage homemade dishes because sharing something you’ve created is part of what makes Grab A Plate special.
If there are circumstances where homemade isn’t possible, get in touch. We want everyone to feel able to take part.
-
We want everyone to feel welcome. When booking, guests will be asked to share any allergies or dietary requirements so we can make sure everyone has something they can enjoy.
We also ask guests to clearly label any dishes containing common allergens so everyone can make informed choices.
As this is a shared-table event, we can’t guarantee every dish will suit every requirement, but we’ll do our best to make sure everyone has options.
-
The homemade dishes are what make each dinner special, but there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes to bring everyone together. Your ticket helps cover the practical costs of running each event, including the space, organisation and thoughtful details that turn a shared meal into a memorable evening.
By contributing, you’re helping us build a community around food, connection and shared experiences.
